Head of Operations

Remote Full Time $8,000 – $15,000 USD/month

Company Overview

We are a fast-growing, founder-led ecommerce company generating 8-figure annual revenue, selling physical consumer goods through direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels. We partner with domestic and international manufacturers and are focused on building a best-in-class, scalable operating engine to support continued growth.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Operations to fully own our end-to-end operations. This role is critical to the company’s success and will have broad authority and accountability across demand planning, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, and operational execution in a founder-led, entrepreneurial environment.

Role Overview

The Head of Operations will be responsible for owning the entire operating lifecycle from demand signal to delivered product while working closely with and overseeing our current operational support, which today consists of an external operations consultant. This leader will build upon the current operational foundation, providing structure, direction, and accountability while elevating performance and scalability.

This role includes direct oversight of the operations function, working hands-on with our current operations consultant to drive execution, establish structure, and implement best practices. Over time, the Head of Operations will be responsible for determining the appropriate internal team structure and building and leading an in-house operations team as the business scales.

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role requiring strong analytical skills, operational rigor, and the ability to work closely with founders, finance, marketing, and sales to translate growth plans into executable operating strategies.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Operations Ownership

  • Fully own the operational process from demand planning → sourcing → manufacturing → logistics → fulfillment.
  • Build and maintain scalable systems that support current operations and future growth.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for operational performance, cost, and service levels.

Demand Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop and manage demand forecasting models aligned with sales, marketing, and growth plans.
  • Translate demand forecasts into production, inventory, and procurement plans.
  • Balance inventory availability with working capital efficiency.

Supply Chain & Logistics

  • Design, manage, and optimize the global supply chain, including inbound freight, warehousing, and outbound fulfillment.
  • Own relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and logistics partners.
  • Improve lead times, reduce landed costs, and increase supply chain reliability.

Sourcing & Manufacturing

  • Own vendor sourcing, selection, negotiation, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Work directly with manufacturers to manage production schedules, quality standards, pricing, and capacity planning.
  • Lead contract negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Ensure product quality, compliance, and consistency across all manufacturing partners.

Financial & Margin Management

  • Partner closely with Finance to manage COGS, gross margins, inventory turns, and cash flow.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve unit economics and operational efficiency.
  • Own operational budgets and performance metrics.

Process, Systems & Scaling

  • Implement and improve systems for inventory management, demand planning, and supply chain visibility.
  • Build SOPs, dashboards, and KPIs to ensure operational clarity and accountability.
  • Prepare the organization and infrastructure to scale beyond 8-figures.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and manage our current operations consultant, setting clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations, while remaining highly hands-on in day-to-day execution.
  • Assess current operational needs and design the future-state operations organization, including recommendations for internal hiring and team build-out as the company scales.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Experience to align operations with company strategy.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the founders and executive team on growth, risk management, and operational decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or general management, ideally within e-commerce, consumer goods, or DTC brands.
  • Proven experience operating at or near the $30M–$100M revenue scale.
  • Deep expertise in demand planning, inventory management, sourcing, and manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience working directly with domestic and/or overseas manufacturers.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing margins, COGS, and working capital.
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes and systems.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience working directly with founders in a founder-led, high-ownership environment, with comfort operating amid evolving priorities and limited hierarchy.
  • Owner mentality: comfortable being fully accountable for outcomes, not just strategy.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven, while still able to operate at a strategic level.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with limited bureaucracy.
  • Strong balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Experienced operator who has “seen around corners”and built systems before things break.

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to own and shape the entire operational backbone of an 8-figure ecommerce business.
  • Direct impact on profitability, scalability, and customer experience.
  • Significant executive-level responsibility with room to grow alongside the company.

This role reports directly to the CEO and is a key member of the executive leadership team.
